Harvest ID – Signing in and more
Harvest ID is our integrated authentication system for both Harvest and Forecast that makes it easy to access multiple accounts that use the same email address. One single sign-in page gives you access to all of your accounts with just one email address and password, and allows you to switch between accounts without needing to sign out and back in.
Signing in to your Forecast account
To sign in, head to https://id.getharvest.com.
You can enter your email address and password, sign in with SAML SSO, or choose to sign in using Google if you have a Google-based email address. As long as you stay signed in to your Google account (and don’t manually sign out of Harvest ID), you’ll also stay signed in to Harvest ID and therefore Forecast.
Whether you enter a password or use Google Sign-In, you may also be required to use two-factor authentication (2FA) and enter an additional code generated by an authenticator app or sent to you by email. This will happen if your organization has a Harvest account with two-factor authentication enabled. You can find more information in the article on two-factor authentication in the Harvest Help Center.
How does SAML SSO work with Forecast?
SAML SSO is set up and managed from Harvest, but if you have the same login email for both Harvest and Forecast, you’ll also be able to sign in to Forecast via SAML SSO. If SAML SSO is marked as required for sign-in with Harvest, and you have a Forecast account integrated with Harvest, SAML SSO will also be required for log in Forecast.
Switching accounts
When using Harvest or Forecast in a web browser, click your name at the top right of any page and select Switch accounts. You’ll be taken to a list of all your Harvest and Forecast accounts, where you can choose which one you’d like to access.
What if I don’t see my Harvest account while I’m signed into Forecast, or vice versa?
If you have multiple accounts but can’t access one or more of them, they most likely use different email addresses and are associated with different Harvest IDs. To merge them into one Harvest ID, please see our FAQ on how to merge accounts with different email addresses.
In the case of Forecast, it’s also possible you’ve been added to the account so you can be scheduled but haven’t been invited to sign in to view the schedule. If you should be able to access the account so you can view or edit the schedule, contact someone with View and Edit permissions so they can invite you.
Reviewing and ending sessions
The Security section of Harvest ID (https://id.getharvest.com/security) lets you review all of your active sessions and sign out of one or more of them. This helps to improve account security in case you accidentally left yourself signed in on a device you no longer have access to, your device was lost or stolen, or your account is being accessed by a third party without your authorization.
To review and/or sign out of sessions:
- Head to https://id.getharvest.com and, if necessary, sign in.
- Click the Security link at the top right and then, in the Open sessions section, click Sign out for any sessions or apps that shouldn’t have access to your Harvest ID.
- Click the Show details link for an individual session to review details, such as the device, location, and IP address.
- If any sessions look unfamiliar to you, we recommend that you click the link to sign out everywhere to end all sessions immediately so no one can access or take any actions in your account without authorization.
- Clicking that link will also automatically trigger a password reset; please check your email to proceed with setting a new password for your Harvest ID to ensure the security of your accounts.
