Archiving, restoring, and deleting clients

Managing clients requires View and Edit permissions.

Archiving clients

Archiving a client will remove them from your clients page. All their data remains intact, and you can restore the client at any time. It’s not possible to archive a client with active projects—you must first archive those projects.

Note: If your account is connected to Harvest, archiving a client in Forecast will archive the linked client in Harvest as well if they don’t have active projects in either platform. You can’t archive a client if they have active projects in Harvest. Learn more in our article on how data syncs between Harvest and Forecast.

To archive a client:

  1. Head to Manage > Clients.
  2. Click on the client you want to archive.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown menu.
  4. Select Archive.

You can view archived clients from Manage > Clients > View archived clients.

Restoring clients

Note: If your account is connected to Harvest, restoring a client in Forecast will restore the linked client in Harvest.

To restore an archived client:

  1. Head to Manage > Clients.
  2. Click View archived clients.
  3. Click the Restore button next to the client you’d like to restore.

Deleting clients

Deleting a client will permanently delete them and all of their associated data, including all of their projects and related assignments. Deleting is irreversible-it is not possible to restore a deleted client or any related data.

Note: If your account is connected to Harvest, deleting a client in Forecast will not affect the linked client in Harvest.

To delete a client:

  1. Head to Manage > Clients.
  2. Click on the client you’d like to delete.
  3. Click the Actions menu and select Delete.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm your deletion, then click Delete.
