Does Forecast charge sales tax?
Effective October 19th, 2021, we will be charging sales tax on Forecast subscriptions for customers in Australia (where it’s called GST) and the following regions of the US: Arizona, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington State, and West Virginia.
Why are you collecting sales tax in my state or country?
Forecast is made by employees who live all around the world. Many regions have started to adapt to the modern online business climate and have deemed it proper that service providers with employees in their state or that sell online products in their state or country should collect sales tax. 100% of the taxes we collect are remitted to the respective taxing authority.
What is my tax rate?
Your tax rate is determined by the applicable federal, state, and/or local sales tax rates. Forecast uses the ZIP code and/or country in your billing address to determine which tax rates apply.
I’m an international customer using a credit card with a US or Australian billing address. Will I be charged tax?
If your billing address falls in any of the regions listed above, yes, you’ll be charged tax, regardless of the location of your company.
Does Forecast offer tax exemptions?
Yes. If your organization is tax/GST exempt, please email our support team with supporting documentation and we’ll be happy to help.
