Does Forecast charge tax on subscriptions?
We charge sales tax and any other applicable taxes on Forecast subscriptions for customers in Australia and Singapore (where it’s called GST) and the following regions of the US: Alaska; Arizona; Chicago, IL; Connecticut; Denver, CO; District of Columbia; Hawaii; Kentucky; Massachusetts; New Mexico; New York; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Puerto Rico; Rhode Island; South Carolina; South Dakota; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; Washington State; and West Virginia.
Why are you collecting tax in my city, state, or country?
Forecast is made by employees who live all around the world. Many regions have started to adapt to the modern online business climate and have deemed it proper that service providers that have employees or sell online products in their city, state, or country should collect sales tax and any other applicable taxes. 100% of the taxes we collect are remitted to the respective taxing authority.
What is my tax rate?
Your tax rate is determined by the applicable federal, state, and/or local tax rates. Forecast uses the ZIP code and/or country in your billing address to determine which tax rates apply.
I’m an international customer using a credit card with a US or Australian billing address. Will I be charged tax?
If your billing address falls in any of the regions listed above, yes, you’ll be charged tax, regardless of the location of your company.
Does Forecast offer tax exemptions?
Yes. If your organization is tax/GST exempt, please email our support team with supporting documentation and we’ll be happy to help.
