Time and expense entries you create using Harvest for iPhone are synced to your Harvest account whenever you’re connected to the internet. If the app can’t sync an entry for some reason, you will see a red badge on the Account tab toward the bottom right of the screen. The number within the badge reflects the number of entries that are currently unsynced. This badge will only appear if you have entries that are unsynced.

Troubleshooting

If you have unsynced time or expense entries, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue. After each step, check to see whether the problem has been resolved.

Check your device’s internet connection

Verify that your device can connect to the internet either via cell data or wifi. You may still experience problems if your connection is weak.

Make sure your device’s clock is correct and being set automatically

From your device’s Home screen:

  1. Tap the Settings app icon.
  2. Tap General, then tap Date & Time.
  3. Make sure Set Automatically is switched on.

Make sure you’re using the latest version of Harvest for iPhone

  1. Go to the App Store on your device and search for Harvest. The app is listed as Harvest Time & Expense Tracker.
  2. Tap UPDATE.

If none of the above steps work, here are some additional things you can try. Keep in mind that if you take any of the steps listed below, you will lose any entries that are currently unsynced. Only follow these steps if you’re comfortable losing those entries. We recommend manually recording unsynced entries outside of the iPhone app first so you can re-enter them later.

Has your Harvest web address changed recently?

If someone has recently changed the web address of your organization’s Harvest account, you may find that entries no longer sync properly from the app. To resolve this, you’ll need to sign out of Harvest for iPhone and then sign in again.

  1. Tap the Account tab toward the bottom of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen and tap Sign Out.
  3. Sign in again.

Remove the app and install it again

From your device’s Home screen:

  1. Tap and hold the Harvest for iPhone app icon until the app starts to wiggle.
  2. Tap the x in the top corner of the Harvest for iPhone app icon.
  3. Tap Delete in the alert.
  4. Download and install Harvest for iPhone again from the App Store.
