We charge sales tax on Harvest subscriptions for customers in Australia (where it’s called GST) and the following regions of the US: District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington State.

Why are you collecting sales tax in my state or country?
Harvest is made by employees who live all around the world. Many regions have started to adapt to the modern online business climate and have deemed it proper that service providers with employees in their state or that sell online products in their country should collect sales tax. 100% of the taxes we collect are remitted to the respective taxing authority.

What is my tax rate?
Your tax rate is determined by the applicable federal, state, and/or local sales tax rates. Harvest uses the ZIP code and/or country in your billing address to determine which tax rates apply.

I’m an international customer using a credit card with a US or Australian billing address. Will I be charged tax?
If your billing address falls in any of the regions listed above, yes, you’ll be charged tax, regardless of the location of your company.

Does Harvest offer tax exemptions?
Yes. If your organization is tax/GST exempt, please email our support team with supporting documentation and we’ll be happy to help.

Does this affect the invoices I send to my customers through Harvest?
Nope! You always have complete control over how taxes are applied to the invoices you send your clients. The taxes discussed on this page only reference the tax that we, Harvest, will charge you, the Harvest customer, as part of the payment for your Harvest account.
